THE CITY

Why it works in Barcelona

  • 01

    268 km of bike lanes

That's the network the Ajuntament (city council) counts. It ties together the Eixample, the seafront and the Diagonal, so getting around the city by bike is no longer just for the brave.

    Guests who come from abroad

In 2025, Barcelona's hotels recorded 21.7 million overnight stays, and 83% of their guests lived outside Spain (INE). They don't know the metro, they want to see the city at their own pace, and they appreciate a bike that opens with their room card.

    Riding weather in January

The annual average at the airport is 16.1 °C, and it rains more than 1 mm on only 53 days a year (AEMET, 1981-2010). January averages 9.2 °C: here, the bike doesn't get put away for the winter.

    A city full of students

The Universitat de Barcelona alone has 40,918 undergraduates, and in the 2023-2024 academic year it hosted 14,123 international students of 149 nationalities. Every one of them has to get to class every day.

WHO PAYS

Three ways to have them in Barcelona

Hotels

A monthly fee per bike. You set the guest price.

You pay a monthly fee for each bike and decide how much your guest pays. What we suggest: free for guests who booked on your website and a daily price for those who come through Booking or Expedia, for example €10 a day, to recover the fee. With so many international travellers, it's one more reason to book direct. The bike unlocks with the NFC room key and reception doesn't have to do a thing. Maintenance, insurance and support included.

Student residences

Free for the student, or €5 a day paid by them.

There are two models. In the first, the residence pays a fee and the student rides without paying anything. In the second, the student pays €5 a day when they take a bike and the residence pays nothing. In Barcelona, the second is the one that works best: you offer one more service without touching your budget.

Flex living

The building pays; the resident rides.

The building pays the fee and the bike becomes part of the stay, like the gym or the laundry room. Anyone who comes to Barcelona for a few months of work finds a bike with their building's brand at the door and gets around the city from day one.

ON THE ROAD

Typical uses in Barcelona

  1. 01

From the hotel to the sea

From Barceloneta to the Fòrum along the seafront: flat, with a bike lane and the sea right beside you. The classic outing for a free afternoon.

  2. 02

Montjuïc and Park Güell, without breaking a sweat

The city's two most famous viewpoints are uphill. With electric assistance up to 25 km/h, the climb is no longer an excuse to stay at the hotel.

  3. 03

From the residence to the Zona Universitària

Faculties of the UB and the UPC are clustered at the top of the Diagonal, and the avenue has a bike lane along much of its length. For a student, it's the ride every morning.

WHAT WE GET ASKED

Barcelona: frequently asked questions

Do you also work outside the city of Barcelona?

Yes. We operate across the whole province of Barcelona, not just the city. If your hotel, residence or building is in the metropolitan area or in another town in the province, write to us and we'll look into it.

There's already Bicing on my street. Why would I want bikes of my own?

They're different things. Bicing is a public service with docking stations on the street. Cityflow bikes belong to your building: they carry your brand, leave from your door and are used only by your guests, students or residents.

I don't have a garage. Where are they kept?

You don't need a garage. The bikes are built to spend the night outdoors, and before installing we find the best place for them with you: at the door, in a courtyard or in a ground-floor space.

Which model suits a residence in Barcelona best?

The €5 a day paid by the student is the one that works best for us here: the residence pays nothing and the student only pays for the days they ride. If you'd rather include it in the stay, that works too.

How much does it cost for my hotel?

It depends on how many bikes you need. We give you the fee in our proposal. What the guest pays is up to you: for example, nothing if they booked on your website and €10 a day if they came through an OTA.

WHERE WE OPERATE

E-bikes in 9 provinces across Spain.

Not in your province? Tell us where you are: the fleet travels.

TALK TO SALES

Do you have a building in Barcelona?

Tell us how many rooms, beds or units it has and we'll suggest how many bikes and which model.

What do you run?

A hotel, a student residence or a flex-living building. We'll reply within 24 hours with a proposal for your case.
